Standardized College Entrance Tests –
Which test is right for you?

There are basically two types of standardized college entrance tests and
you should understand the difference between them before deciding which one
is right for you to take. One test has a reasoning-based structure, the other content-based. We can help explain the differences to you so you can choose
to take either one or both. Which test do colleges want? Colleges will specifically tell you which test and what scores they are looking for.

Standardized College Entrance Tests –

of the differences.
SAT and ACT – While not all schools require the SAT or ACT, the majority do. Along with your GPA, transcript and recommendation, these tests can be key to admittance to the college of your choice. Learn More
PSAT – The “Pre” SAT test. Basically the same test but given as a preparation test.
PLAN – The “Pre” ACT test.

Subject Tests - (formerly SAT II: Subject Tests) Designed to measure knowledge and skills in particular subject areas, as well as ability to apply that knowledge.
Advanced Placement Tests –after completion of the AP course(s) in Junior and/or Senior year, these culminating exams are given in May.
